Carleene is a Human Factors Analyst with the Healthcare Human Factors Group where she conducts human factors evaluation of medical devices used in healthcare institutions. Her work is highly informed by her previous role as a Medical Engineering Technologist at University Health Network. Her extensive work with hospital equipment, such as patient pumps and monitors, defibrillators and anesthesia machines, enables her to readily identify problems and provide recommendations regarding the design and usability of various healthcare devices, in the context of their use.
Carleene also manages the simulation labs at the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation. She coordinates the technical set up of the complex simulation environments needed for usability testing, and also provides technical support and troubleshooting during low and high fidelity user testing in the labs.
Carleene holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson University and has been working for the University Health Network since 2003.
